Press Release Body = "Please Knock" is a children's book written help facilitate
family discussion on your child's personal space, setting boundaries and being safe.
The poems and illustrations offer a less frightening way to teach children about
the growing risk of sexual offenders in our world.

Less than 3% of all child abuse is perpetrated by strangers. Over 97% of all victims
(and their parents) knew the sexual predator prior to the abuse. Strangers are not
the biggest threats to your children. More often than not, it is Relative Danger
not Stranger Danger. The Predators are family, friends, and trusted members within
our community. While this may be uncomfortable to accept, it is true! This book
helps address that issue. To find out more about Erin and "Please Knock", or to

Colorado author Erin Dolgan received her Masters Degree in Clinical Counseling in
1995. Licensed in the State of Colorado, she is a practicing clinician working with
families and children. She has worked with juvenile and adult male sexual offenders
for a decade in private practice and wants other parents to benefit from her
experiences and knowledge. The reality is that parents must accept risk in order to
teach and encourage safety.
