Press Release Body = Many pregnant women know the feeling – their clothing is too
tight in the early months of pregnancy but they don’t feel big enough for maternity
wear.

A clever idea from a frustrated mum now fills that gap.

Belly Belt kits expand the waistband of jeans, pants and skirts to turn them into
maternity wear.

A stretchy Belly Belt simply buttons into the existing button and buttonhole on the
garment’s waistband.

Colored fabric panels slip over the belt to cover the gap, and a maternity shirt is
worn over the top.

Inventor and mother Christine Kininmonth from Australia developed the Belly Belt
when she was pregnant.

“I loved my work suits and thought it would be sensible in the early stages to try
to adapt what I had instead of buying clothes that were too roomy.

Elsa Mailloux says when she was first pregnant she felt like a clown in maternity
clothes.
“I did not show enough to wear maternity clothes yet I was too big for normal
clothes. The Belly Belt enabled me to save money and still feel ‘normal’.”

And now by popular demand, Fertile Mind has released Belly Belt Slide. Christine
explains: “We had so many enquiries from women who were happy with their button-up
Belly Belt, that we decided to bring out a Belly Belt version that would allow women
to use turn their smart skirts, suits and pants into maternity wear.”

Higher quality and business clothes often use slide fasteners rather than buttons.

Both Belly Belt kits contain everything needed to adapt clothing into maternity wear.
Each kit includes three sized belts and three coloured fabric panels. They sell for
A$32.95 and are available at major department stores and independent maternity wear
stores. Please visit www.fertilemind.com.au to find a stockist near you.
